Overview

Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the Sheridan area benefits from a Nordic ski trail system in the Bighorn Mountains. Cross-country skiing trails in the Bighorn National Forest are relatively undiscovered by Nordic skiers. These ski trails are accessible from highways 14 and 16. In addition, snowshoeing is possible along a number of Bighorn Mountain and Sheridan-area hiking trails in the winter.
