Sheridan County School District #2

Sheridan County School District #2

Sheridan County School District #2 serves the Sheridan city area, along with a rural elementary school located in Story. The district has six elementary schools (K-5), two junior high schools (grades 6-8), and two high schools (grades 9-12), with an enrollment of over 3,100 students. Like the other districts, District #2 offers a strong college-preparatory education as well as vocational curriculum, setting high standards for all students.

Sheridan High School was named one of the nation’s top high schools by Newsweek in 2013 – the only high school in Wyoming that made the list.  Students consistently score on the statewide Proficiency Assessments for Wyoming Students (PAWS) evaluation tests. District #2 is also especially known for its top-quality music program.

Eleven Advanced Placement (AP) courses are offered at Sheridan High School, enabling students to receive college credits and/or placement at over 2,000 colleges nationwide while receiving credit towards high school graduation. There are also services for special education, Title 1, and gifted students.

And the School District is also rather proud of the fact that the Lady Broncs were Wyoming State Volleyball Champions (Class 4A) for the 2011-12 school year and the Broncs were Wyoming State Football Champions (Class 4A)!
