Just as he was leaving town last night, J. Herschel Charles was taken into custody by Deputy Sheriff Blackbourn to answer to a homicide charge pending against him at Elijah, Georgia. Since his arrest, he has told officers of the sheriff’s force that he did kill a man in Elijah on the first of June.

A woman arrested in Sheridan for burglary has been returned to Billings where she allegedly committed the crime.
