Emerson Community Garden

Community gardening is a big topic across the nation. In Sheridan there are 7 community gardens! People have decided it’s time to know where our food comes from.

Gardening is fun! You plant something, water it, care for it, watch it grow, and then eat it! Gardening is fun because there’s a very tangible reward with each step of the process. You dig, you sweat, and you toil in your garden; and you are rewarded with fresh delicious vegetables.

Gardening is also therapeutic. You have a community of people working together growing things. When people become gardeners, “therapeutic” is usually how they describe their experience. It’s also empowering.
