Vision Statement

To become the vehicle for a strong creative economy in the community

Develop opportunities, innovation and promotion in the creative economy for our community and beyond

Strategic Goals:

  1.  Become and Operational Business
    • Recruit and hire part time Executive Director
    • Establish good business practices for day to day operation of Sage and the Art Center
    • Prepare annual report for SAGE to be used as “credibility builder” with community
    • Prepare projected monthly budget and operation plans for up- coming year
    • Assign a task committee, create a budget and provide funding for this activity
  2. Serve our Community of Artists
    • Continue existing programs
    • Work with College on “Business of Art” classes as part of incubator strategy
    • Develop social events and functions for artists and community
    • Assign a task committee, create a budget and provide funding for this activity
  3. Provide Art Education to All Ages and Artistic Abilities
    • Continue and strengthen existing programs
    • Provide art education through a variety of programming for our collaborative partners such as lectures, ongoing workshops and art instruction for people of all ages and abilities
    • Increase promotion and education for 3-dimensional art, artistic crafts and other creative pursuits
    • Assign a task committee, create a budget and provide funding for this activity
  4. Secure Permanent Residence for Sagebrush Art Center
    • Purchase or lease the Old Train Depot in 2013
    • Develop organizational capacity within SAGE to plan and implement a major capital campaign in support of this purchase
    • Identify and solicit sponsor organizations, private parties, state and federal grant programs that have capacity and willingness to fund this purchase.
    • Structure this investment to be in support of the existing and expanding creative economy in Sheridan
    • Assign a task committee, create a budget and provide funding for this activity
  5. Improve Local, Regional and National Outreach and Awareness
    • Continue Collaboration with RENEW, Easter Seals, Sheridan Senior Center, and home schooled students
