Sheridan County Fair

County Fair Offers Fun for Everyone!

The annual Sheridan County Fair offers a week of family entertainment at the county fairgrounds, a 40-acre site between Victoria and Fifth streets on Sheridan’s west side. The focus is mainly on local 4-H and FFA youth, but anyone of any age can enter the open shows featured in the Exhibit Hall, where projects range from canning and baking to … yes … rocket science. Outdoor shows include not only the traditional livestock and equestrian events but poultry and rabbit shows, mini-horse shows, dog shows and cat shows.

The week of events, which starts usually around the end of July and continues into early August, also features a lineup of special entertainment including demonstrations, music and the always-popular pig wrestling. The last day of the fair is capped by the annual livestock auction, where 4-H and FFA members offer their market-bred cattle, sheep, swine and poultry to the highest bidder. Seats in the sale barn are packed with buyers willing to pay top dollar in support of local youth.
